Lesson history: how to track your progress

An automatic log of everything you have already practiced.

Guitar Trainer automatically logs every lesson you open. You do not need to take notes or mark anything manually — the history updates on its own every time you work with a lesson. Over time, that list becomes a real tool for understanding how you are progressing.

What is the lesson history?

The history is a section of Guitar Trainer that shows all the lessons you have visited, sorted by date. Each entry shows which lesson it was, which block it belongs to, and when you last opened it. It is a chronological record of your activity on the platform.

You will find it in the left navigation bar, under the history icon.

What is it actually useful for?

  • Picking up where you left off. If several days have passed since your last session, the history shows you exactly what you were practicing without having to remember.
  • Seeing your volume of work. Over time, the history reflects how many different lessons you have worked on. It is a tangible measure of your activity.
  • Spotting patterns. If you always return to the same lessons and never move on to others, the history makes that visible.
  • Confirming that you practiced. On days of doubt, the history answers with facts.

What the history does not do

The history logs visits, not evaluations. It does not know whether you played well or poorly, whether you completed the lesson or closed it after thirty seconds. It is a record of activity, not performance. For that, you have the training lists, where you decide which lessons are worth repeating.

How to use it well

The history is most useful when you check it at the start of each practice session, not only when you cannot remember what you were doing. Reviewing it before you begin helps you decide whether to continue where you left off or explore something new. It is also a good starting point for building or adjusting your training lists: if you notice a lesson appearing many times in your history, it probably deserves a fixed place in your weekly routine.
